Meanwhile, Wahidullah Afghan, the head of the department of mental health announced that the number of mental patients in Afghanistan is 20% and said that providing mental health services is a priority for the Ministry of Public Health.

Also, the officials of the Ministry of Public Health say that in the allocation of the health budget to the mental health sector, less attention has been paid and this sector needs more investment.

According to the officials of the Ministry of Public Health, at least 40% of children in Afghanistan are facing behavioural problems and nearly 16% are facing attention deficit disorders.

Moreover, international organisations such as Save the Children also published a report saying that children in Afghanistan are under increasing mental and emotional pressure; Because they bear the burden of the worsening crisis in this country.

This organisation has also said that Afghanistan is on the verge of a mental health disaster; Because the economic crisis and decades of conflict have had dangerous effects on children’s mental health.
