34 news; The US Department of State has announced a new program called “Afghan Women’s Economic Empowerment Alliance”.
The US State Department said in a statement that the Afghan Women’s Economic Resilience Alliance is a new partnership between the public and private sectors that was established between the US State Department and Boston University.
According to this announcement, the purpose of establishing this alliance is to accelerate trade, humanitarian activities, and civil society commitments for the advancement of Afghan women’s private entrepreneurs, job creation, and educational opportunities in Afghanistan.
The announcement also quoted Blinken as saying that the Alliance for the Economic Empowerment of Afghan Women is the first initiative of its kind to train and support one million women in Afghanistan in the next five years in various sectors, including the private sector and civil society.
At the same time, Anthony Blinken, who spoke on the sidelines of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly, said that the United States, together with its allies and partners, is helping Afghan women and girls in various fields through diplomacy.
Blinken said: “We are organising a united front together with our allies and partners, including the Islamic world, and we ask the Taliban to respect women’s rights.”
The US Secretary of State also said: “If women were allowed, today women in Afghanistan could contribute one billion dollars to the Afghan economy.”
