The US $150 million aid for the people of Afghanistan

34 news; Thomas West, the special representative of the US in Afghanistan, has announced that his country will donate 150 million dollars to the people of Afghanistan.

West said the new $150 million in aid will help address food insecurity, support children’s education and empower women and girls.

According to him, America is committed to the people of Afghanistan and remains firm to help address the economic crisis of this country.

He said that 80 million dollars of this aid will be available to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations to reduce food insecurity in Afghanistan, including to support women who are heads of the family.

Another 40 million dollars will be deposited to the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) to support children, especially teenage girls.

According to him, another 30 million dollars of this aid will be given to the UN Women’s Department to increase the access of women and girls to social support services and to support civil society organizations led by women.
