34 news; The United Nations Food Program (WFP) has said that about nineteen million people in Afghanistan are currently facing food insecurity.
Wahidullah Amani, the spokesperson of the World Food Program in Afghanistan, said that although this organisation has provided food aid to more than 21 million people in this country, about 19 million people need food aid.
He said that WFP is trying to transfer food for the coming winter to the provinces whose transportation routes are blocked in winter.
Meanwhile, it is said that a large shipment of food and non-food aid from Kazakhstan was handed over to the United Nations in Termez port on Wednesday, 31 August to be distributed to the needy people in Afghanistan.
