Germany’s promise of long-term support to Ukraine

German Foreign Minister Annalena Bearbock has assured Ukraine of several years of support in the war against Russia, saying that she will help the country financially and militarily as long as it needs help.

The German Foreign Minister said: “Unfortunately, we start from the point that Ukraine will need heavy weapons from its friends next summer.”

The German Foreign Minister also defended Ukraine’s right to the Crimean Peninsula and said: “Crimea also belongs to Ukraine.” The world has never recognised this illegal annexation since 2014.

Bearbock added that Vladimir Putin had this “delusional idea” that he would take over Ukraine in the shortest time, but his intention was not fulfilled.
