34 news; Education officials in Paktia and Logar provinces say that the recent floods in the center and some districts have destroyed or damaged the buildings of several schools and religious schools.
Paktia Education Director Nik Mohammad Monib said that 17 schools in Gardiz, six schools in Ahmedabad district, seven schools in Zarmat district, four schools in Wazi district of Zadran, and one school in Samkani district were damaged in the recent floods.
Also, the buildings of 12 schools in Zermat and Gardiz districts, the center of Paktia, have been severely damaged, and the buildings of three schools and one school in Wazi district of Zadran are being destroyed.
At the same time, devastating floods in Logar province have damaged the buildings of 24 schools.
Mohammad Shahpour Arab, the spokesman of the Education Department of Logar Province, says that as a result of the recent floods, Shahidan High School of Pad Shab Shaneh village, Hisark High School, Bilal Hanif Private High School, Barki Rajan School, Qala Jaber School, Shah Mazar School, Sajavand School, Pad Shab Roghani School Baraki Barak Girls’ School, Old Qala High School, Despajk School and Khaja Bland School of Charkh district were destroyed.

Similarly, Mani and Deobandi schools of Khushi district, Tangi Waghjan of Mohammad Agheh district, Azra Sangi Baran, Akbarkhel, Musa Khan, Maarouf Khel, Kharwar, Khaja Angor, Aryakhel, and Ali Jan Khel schools were destroyed.
It has been said that as a result of the destruction of schools, more than a thousand students have been deprived of going to school.
Recent floods in a large number of provinces of Afghanistan have caused casualties and huge financial losses. According to the Ministry of Natural Disasters, in the last month, 194 people were killed and 260 people were injured in 21 provinces.
