Speaking at a meeting on the occasion of “International Tourism Day” in Kabul today, Tuesday, September 27, he said, “The opportunity of education should be provided to men and women in the country as soon as possible.”
Stanekzai emphasised and added: “Education and training are mandatory for both men and women, and discrimination between men and women in learning science and knowledge has no Shariah reason.”
Stanekzai said, “We have no reason to block girls’ schools, and technical problems in this field must be removed as soon as possible, because the longer this problem remains, the nation that defeated the powers of the East and West will distance itself from us.”
In this meeting, he emphasised the importance of national unity in the country and added that the problems of 40 years of war cannot be solved in a short period.
This is while girls’ schools above the sixth grade have been closed in Afghanistan for a year, and girls have not been allowed to go to school.
